FAQs
This course is mandatory for all childcare educators, family daycare providers, and early learning staff under ACECQA. It is also recommended for teachers, school staff, parents, and carers who want to be prepared for paediatric emergencies.
HLTAID012 is valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component must be renewed every 12 months to remain ACECQA and workplace compliant.
- HLTAID009 – Provide CPR: CPR and AED only (valid 1 year).
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid: General first aid for workplaces and the community (valid 3 years, CPR annually).
- HLTAID012 – Childcare First Aid: Includes all of HLTAID011, plus specialised focus on asthma, anaphylaxis, febrile convulsions, and other paediatric emergencies. This is the ACECQA-approved standard for educators and childcare workers.
No. Anyone aged 14 years or older with basic English and the ability to perform CPR can enrol.
- Weekday Courses: Certificates are issued the same day once completed.
- Weekend Courses: Certificates are issued the next business day (Monday).
